Although the Halloween candy just hit the shelves of Walgreens, we’re already thinking if the holidays – and all the related giving that goes with it. It helps that for us, the end of the year marks our Favorite Charities contest, created in partnership with fellow San Francisco native Pacific Gas and Electric Company.

For our third year running, it’s your nominations and votes that help recognize the organizations that you think are doing the most good in San Francisco. In true 7x7 fashion, we'll be recognizing seven finalists. The top six will be taking home $2,000 grants from PG&E. But, one who garners the most votes will have their holidays brightened with a total of $10,000.

While it feels good to give, it never hurts to receive too. Anyone who nominates has a chance to join in the celebration by automatically being entered to win a pair of tickets to 7x7’s “Giving Season” holiday event, where the Favorite Charity awards will be presented.

So let us know who you are passionate about -- who is helping those here in San Francisco. They just might end up with added help for the holidays.

Nominate: September 24- October 8

Vote: Top 49 October 17- November 13

Vote: Top 7 November 14- December 10

Celebrate: Winner Announced December 10
