If you're not already following the misadventures of Steve Goldbloom on PBS's Everything But the News, you're seriously missing out. The SF-based production hilariously lampoons the newsgathering business as Goldbloom – a technology-illiterate, NewsHour-obsessed journalist on the show – attempts to cover the start up scene in Silicon Valley.
Goldbloom, a former NewsHour alum himself, persuaded PBS to fund and produce the series by encouraging them to poke fun at themselves. The show was an instant hit, and it's not hard to see why. Goldbloom interviews such notables as the CEOs from Uber, Reddit, Funny or Die, JDate, Match.com, Zappos, Khan Academy, Fitbit, YouTube Space, and IndieGoGo, as well as comedians Adam Carolla and Marc Maron to expertly cast light on Bay Area culture. One episode shows the founder of Grindr explaining his geo-dating app to Goldbloom’s mother (hilarious!), while another features Goldbloom’s live-remote report from a mosh pit at a heavy metal showcase.

Mission. I move all the time! My next career will be as a professional subletter.
What's your hands-down, absolute favorite thing to eat in SF?
Plantain burrito from Little Chihuahua with chips and at least four flavors of salsa.
What's your perfect night on the town?
First, see above. Followed by a fake dive bar — that is someplace that serves good old fashions but looks dark enough so you feel tough. Followed by — Lots. Of. Dancing. Ideally I’m not doing all this stuff alone.
When you need a low-key afternoon, where do you go for down time
I stay in my apartment and melt cheese on things while looking stuff up on the Internet. But I’m trying to do this less and less. Is it too late to change my answer to biking the headlands? Let’s go with that.
What's your favorite place to go on a day trip from the city?
The beach! The further South the better. Half Moon Bay is gorgeous so I like tooling around those parts in a Zipcar. I don’t have a car.
