Highly-caffeinated film gurus--you'd have to have consumed a couple cappucinos to make it out that late--convened at the stylish W Hotel on Saturday night as the clock struck 12 to catch a glimpse of big-screen starlets Evan Rachel Wood and Elijah Wood. As part of the San Francisco International Film Festival's opening weekend, each was a recipient of a Midnight Award (hence the twilight hour) for their individual achievements in film.
At just 21 years of age, Evan has won multiple awards and even garnered a Golden Globe nod for her work in such movies as Thirteen, Across the Universe, Running with Scissors, and the 2009 Oscar-nominated The Wrestler. Next up, Evan will assume the role of 500-year-old vampire queen Sophie in the hit HBO show, True Blood, which will debut its second season in June.
Elijah, most recognized for his starring role as Frodo Baggins in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, recently completed an animated series and is taking a hiatus for the moment, though he says he's hoping to find some work in the coming months.
Evan dominated the show inside when the duo sat down with host Beth Lisick, who quizzed the sassy star about everything from exercising her comedic chops with Larry David to her black belt in martial arts.
"In class, I once sparred my mom and, accidentally, split her lip. She cried, and I felt so bad!" the actress exclaimed.
