A friend called me up last night to ask if I knew anywhere great for late-night sushi—and any other kind of food for that matter. It got me thinking about this list again. So here you go. To all those midnight snackers out there. —SD
A San Franciscan's lament is often that there's no late-night dining in this town. But there is—and it reaches far beyond Nopa and Globe to neighborhoods all across the city. In fact, just recently, the Marina added three new late-night spots—Kasa, Tacolicious and Delarosa—to its roster of Betelnut and Brazen Head. Meanwhile, in the Mission District, Nombe is turning out food until 2 am.
Following is an impressively diverse list of 32 restaurants that serve food—good food—until midnight, at least a couple nights a week, and often beyond.
