Last week, San Francisco’s devoted ballet enthusiasts were swept away to a world of "Infinite Romance" at SF Ballet’s 2015 Opening Night Gala. The evening kicked off in style as attendees dressed in floor-sweeping gowns and sharp tuxedos posed for photos on the red carpet outside San Francisco City Hall. Once inside, guests enjoyed a chic pre-performance cocktail reception and seated dinner care of the SF Ballet Auxiliary, a fundraising group of over 100 women who support the ballet. The next generation of young professional arts supporters gathered at the Encore! pre-performance social.
Across the street at the War Memorial Opera House, attendees enjoyed a complimentary prosecco promenade to salute the upcoming SF Ballet season. The evening's new performance combined new works by up-and-coming choreographers with breathtaking classical performances by the company's world-class dancers.
The black-tie affair kept the festivities going with an afterparty back at a transformed City Hall. The sold-out event held true to the night's romantic theme with modern yet delicate decor, elegant lighting, and a specialty drink of the evening dubbed "The Romeo." The multiple dance floors were packed throughout the evening, thanks to a DJ and live band.
Tickets for the SF Ballet’s 2015 season are now on sale, including Giselle, Don Quixote, Romeo & Juliet, and many more.
