Get a Taste of Potrero

As long as you're feeling charitable, you might as well check out the fifth annual Taste of Potrero, a fundraiser for Daniel Webster Elementary School featuring 40-plus local restaurants and bars. Slated for Thursday from 6 to 10 p.m. in Building 12 of Pier 70, guests can get a peek at the revitalization process currently underway there while mixing and mingling with top chefs and bartenders and tasting their wares. Blackjack Benefit with Open Bar

If affordable housing is your cause, you'll want to attend High Stakes for Habitat, a fundraiser benefiting Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco. Organized by the charity's Young Leaders Circle and hosted at the Great American Music Hall, Friday night's speakeasy-themed party starts at 8 p.m. and features blackjack, poker, a photo booth, a DJ, and a silent auction.
