There's a new kid on the block at The Ritz-Carlton's beyond-tasty destination restaurant, Parallel 37. New Chef de Cuisine Michael Rotondo, fresh from working as executive chef at the famous Charlie Trotter's in Chicago, is raring to bring his globally-inspired cooking style to Parallel 37's contemporary American menu.
Wining and dining at the restaurants guarantees you a complete food and wine experience, and the decorated Chef Rotondo is excited to pair his work with some of the best wines, beer (hand-selected by Restaurant manager Justin Kindel), and hand-crafted cocktails (by bar star Camber Lay) anywhere.
“There are few cities in the world where such incredible ingredients are available locally and in season almost year-round, and fewer still so close to the epicenter of the wine culture in the United States," said Chef Rotondo. “Living and working in San Francisco is a dream; it is a true food city where guests know great cuisine.”
As always, Parallel 37's sharp focus hones in food and wine found along the 37th parallel–the circle of latitude running through the SF Bay Area, without forgetting the grand tradition of globally-inspired California cuisine.
Delicious new dinner items by Rotondo will make your head spin: Try a farm fresh hen egg with caramelized brussels sprouts and sweet & sour rhubarb ($16); Dungeness crab with green tomato and Thai basil linguini ($21); or Oxtail with nasturtium, chocolate and honey mustards ($23).
You can enjoy items a la carte, shared family-style, or, if you're feeling adventurous, embark on Chef Rotondo’s eight-course, market-inspired tasting menu prepared for the entire table ($135 per person; $75 optional beverage pairing).
Located in The Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco, Parallel 37 is at 600 Stockton Street, between California and Pine streets. The restaurant is open daily for lunch and dinner, Sunday for brunch and offers valet parking for just $10.
