Golden Gate theater

Families—sometimes we love them and sometimes we wish we could get rid of them. Learn to look at them in a new light after watching Fiddler on the Roof, an enduring classic about the bonds that tie families together across time. The 1964 musical comes to Golden Gate Theater under Jerome Robbins' original Broadway direction and choreography. Chaim Topol, star of the first West End production and 1971 film, will star in this special run.

For a big Broadway musical that is otherwise (to quote one character) as  corny as Kansas in August, South Pacific is full of darkness. Despite its cavalcade of terrific songs, this 1949 musical serenades war, death and racism. And features some creepy characters.
