The de Young will be abuzz with the highly anticipated opening of The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier, From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk. The dynamic, multimedia exhibition will include 120 haute couture and ready-to-wear designs created between the early 1970s and 2010, along with numerous sketches, archival documents, fashion photographs, and video clips that spotlight Gaultier’s collaborations with filmmakers, choreographers, and musicians. Learn the secrets of getting your fashion writing published at this evening adult seminar Fashion Writing á la Mode. An esteemed panel of writers from sites like ModCloth, SFIndieFashion, and Joyus who will discuss the craft of fashion writing as well as address issues related to the publishing aspects of writing, both in print and electronically. $50 for general admission, $35 for students and 826 Valencia volunteers.
