Shotwell lives and proves that even petty theft won't keep them down. After a devastating burglary in July, the store closed their doors for necessary repairs, but they're back open tonight and are throwing a bash to celebrate! Cheap cocktails, beats by DJ Superdunny and a $10 store credit for everyone who walks through the door. Need we say more?

In case you haven’t heard, The City’s newly arrived pop-culture attraction New People opened over the weekend in Japantown to hoards of Harajuku lovers, anime fans and film-goers. The 20,000-square-foot complex complete with a movie theater, art gallery, café and retail shops showcasing Japanese street fashion brands is three stories of wall-to-wall eye candy (seriously, even the walls in the stairwells are worth peeking at).

Whether or not you’re in the market for a $25,000 pair of diamond-encrusted gold sunglasses, who doesn’t want to see such a thing – especially if there are only five pairs on the planet (Princess Caroline of Monaco owns a pair) and one debuts in San Francisco tomorrow night?

Banana Republic announced its intention to open a new brand concept, Edition by Banana Republic, exclusive to San Francisco in May 2009.  The new accessories boutique will feature limited edition women’s handbag and jewelry collections along with the best of Banana Republic accessories, including shoes, personal care, eyewear and seasonal accessories.

CB2 #2 Opening in Berkeley

Now all you Berkeley kids have another place to find inexpensive home furnishings, without having to schlep across the bridge for them. CB2 will be opening its second Bay Area store at 1730 4th St. this January the 29th.

Toast to the opening of Cherish, the new stationery and scrapbooking studio on Clement. 20 percent of proceeds from the event will go directly to the Breast Cancer Emergency Fund, which provides emergency assistance to women with breast cancer.
