50-70% Off This Weekend at Timbuk2

(blog)

We hate moving. Unless, of course, we’re not doing the heavy lifting and there are discounts involved. San Francisco’s messenger-bag favorite Timbuk2 is relocating their Mission facility around the corner and they’re planning to pack lightly. Which means this Saturday, March 13 a mix of older season styles and one-of-a-kind designs of their durable messenger bags, urban backpacks and accessories will be 50-70% off. You read that right. Stop by from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for that patterned bike bag you’ve been eyeing (only at a fraction of the cost).

San Francisco-based Timbuk2, popular for its contemporary, streamlined bags that come in a variety of shapes and sizes, has introduced a new line of packs named after local bars. And, since the crew behind Timbuk2 loves an excuse to party, they're hosting a week-long bar crawl starting on Monday--and inviting the community to come out and join them. So strap on your Timbuk2 bag and head out to one of the below locales for fabulous drink specials and a chance to win Timbuk2 goodies.

The perfect reason to party—Timbuk2 just launched a new line of backpacks named after their favorite SF bars and restaurant. Featuring a weeklong happy hour at each of the respective venues, patrons will enjoy drink specials, live sewing by T2 designers, and bag giveaways if you wear your T2 bag to the featured bar (get there early). Here's the lineup:

Seeing the (ahem) popularity of last week's mashup of two of the most stereotyped SF neighborhoods got us thinking of how we could possibly follow with another. But alas, once the Haight was mentioned it all became clear. This week's muse is a businessman by day who's a hippie at heart, reflected in his style by adding a dash of 'Summer of Love' flair into his work wear. So turn on some Dead and indulge yourself:

While globalization has pushed almost all manufacturing companies out of San Francisco to the other side of the Pacific Ocean, popular bag-maker Timbuk2 prides itself on holding on to its small factory on Alabama Street in lower Potrero.
