On August 1st, Saks Fifth Avenue and The League to Save Lake Tahoe celebrated the 40th anniversary fashion show with Oscar de la Renta. Last year the show raised over $600,000 benefiting environmental advocacy work at Lake Tahoe. This year's Benefit Fashion Show was held at the Fritz family home followed by lunch and a live auction from exclusive labels, including Oscar de la Renta, Saks Fifth Avenue, Boucheron, Tiffany & Co., Bulgari, and the Ritz-Carlton.

On July 22, Symphonix hosted a preview of their Opening Night Gala at the Mark Hopkin's Peacock Court. Young professionals gathered for an evening of conversations with Robin Sutherland, Principal Pianist, San Francisco Symphony, and John Kieser, General Manager, San Francisco Symphony followed by a reception.

On July 25th, Brittany Lydster celebrated her Sweet 16 birthday. Parents, Martin and Rosalina Lydster, of Jewelry by Rosalina, hosted the celebration at their Los Altos Hills home. Brittany has been working with local charities such as Rafael House and Helpers of the Mentally Retarded, and plans to attend design school after graduating high school. Rosalina Lydster says, "hopefully she wants to design jewelry, just like me!"

On July 28, Louis Vuitton Maison Union Square hosts a private shoppipng event with Daniel Lalonde, President and CEO of Louis Vuitton North America, and Karen Moyer, Philanthropist and Co-founder of the Moyer Foundation. Guests shopped the 2009 Fall/Winter Collections with a portion of the sales benefiting Camp Erin, a bereavement camp for children ages 6-17 funded by The Moyer Foundation.

On July 21st, The Friends of Juma Dinner was held at the Butterfly restaurant in San Francisco. The fundraiser benefits Juma to continue supporting the Bay Area's youth in employment in social enterprises, education and financial support services. This driving force behind the organization makes college attainable for today's youth and assists in completing their education. Juma annually serves 120 Bay Area low-income youth in the program aimed toward this goal.

On July 21st Vanessa Williams hosted the Express Success event with BOTOX® Cosmetics benefiting the nonprofit Dress for Success. The evening was held at The St. Regis San Francisco where guests learned beauty tips from local stylists and make-up artists, followed by presentations from Vanessa Williams, CEO of Dress for Success Joi Gordon, and a nationally known physician, all in celebration and support of San Francisco's Dress for Success.

On July 8th, Symphony supper chairs Letitia and Michael Kim with Patricia Ferrin Loucks and Charles Loucks hosted the committee gathering in anticipation of the San Francisco Symphony's Opening Night Gala. Le Club hosted the evening alongside presenting sponsor Wells Fargo.

On June 24th, the deYoung museum hosted the Donor's Gala in celebration of the Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs exhibition. The de Young reflected a 1920's Cairo nightclub including belly dancers, acrobats and talented sword dancers. Attendees included His Excellency Sameh Shoukry, Egyptian Ambassador to the U.S., Dr. Zahi Hawass, Secretary General of the Egyptian Supreme Council of Antiquities and FAMSF Board President Dede Wilsey.

The Bayview Hunters Point YMCA hosted their 2009 Annual Dinner in celebration of the year's success. The evening was held at The City Club of San Francisco, including wine tasting, hors d'oerves and a silent auction, followed by a seated dinner. The Bayview Hunters Point YMCA holds after school and summer programs to support local youth and provides seniors with community.
