He's talking, of course, about his new 925 Technology Silver Edition collection which promises to be the "most comfortable shoe a woman's ever looked good in" and after slipping into a pair at the event, we may have to agree. Seeing as this past Monday was the Oscars of the fashion industry, we decided to salute the CFDA (that's the Council of Fashion Designers of America for those who always or never wondered) Awards by featuring three of this year's winners: Calvin Klein, SF native Alexander Wang and Proenza Schouler. And what better way to do so than by showing the designers' take on the ultimate wardrobe essential, the Little Black Dress, at three different price points?

As a child, Emanuel Garcia wanted to go to space. Now 34 years old, the apprentice architect is still interested in state-of-the-art technology—he just opts for out-of-this-world fashions instead.A native of Roswell, NM, Garcia moved to SF to study architecture at California College of the Arts. Currently designing the upscale costume-jewelry store Encanti at the new Westfield San Francisco Centre, Garcia approaches an architectural project the same way he constructs an outfit: with a solid mental vision and a whole lot of planning. Who is your style idol? Fashion’s enfant terrible, Jean Paul Gaultier. He is a creative genius: bold, crazy, imaginative and definitely not for everyone.
