Wedding Inspiration: A New-School Take on Old World Traditions

By

Caitlin and Michael wanted to bring the old-world European grace of their Armenian heritage to their San Francisco wedding.

The bride walked down the aisle of St. John's Armenian Church in a stunning Priscilla of Boston lace gown, which the groom complemented with a custom morning suit. The ceremony was rich in traditions, including the time-honored Armenian ritual of crowning the newlyweds.

After the ceremony, guests ditched their black tie finery for cocktail-ready duds, and the wedding party made its way to the Fairmont San Francisco's garden terrace. As dinner began in the Fairmont's Gold Room, both fathers gave loving speeches amid the lush white flowers and mirrored walls. While family and friends dined, a traditional Armenian dance troupe entertained the guests with five folk dances. Then it was the bride and groom's turn on the dance floor, and they followed the first dance with many more Armenian and American hits.
