Feeling hospitable? You'd have plenty of room to host traveling celebrities—or just your regular friends and family—if you were the master of this eye-popping, six-bedroom Tudor Revival estate spanning over 9,000 square feet, currently owned by former Kimpton Hotels CEO Michael Depatie and his wife, Holly.

The couple purchased the 1930s home for $8.8 million in 2013, then spent $2 million in renovations. The Depaties say they felt a connection with the house as soon as they walked in, and have since made it their own with all the luxurious finishes and dramatic ambiance you might expect from a boutique hotel connoisseur.

The couple has also hosted multiple events, a Canadian consulate, U.S. ambassadors, and even Martha Stewart. And while Depatie thought they might live there forever, they made the move to Napa Valley during the pandemic.

Wrapping around a central courtyard with a fire pit, the residence is designed for entertaining with grand spaces that include a wood-paneled library slash banquet hall; a plush billiards room with a wet bar; a home theater; a gym; and even a guest apartment.

The home is fully updated but maintains its original charm and craftsmanship in soaring ceilings with exposed beams, black and white marble flooring, arched doorways, and a statement staircase. A series of moody palettes in striking color combinations sets a tone of mystery and one-of-a-kind design throughout.

The main level consists of a spacious foyer, an elegant formal living room and dining room, and a homey kitchen.

On the second floor, a large primary suite has its own cozy sitting room with a fireplace. There are three additional bedrooms here, two bathrooms, and a laundry room with a kitchenette–just in case you need a late-night snack.

The lower level houses the one-bedroom, one-bathroom guest suite and connects to the two-car garage.
