God bless the great state of California. We can take any ethnic food and add our oh-so-typical thumbprint to it. Enter the breakfast burrito, not just for dinner anymore! We took something native to Mexico and slapped it with eggs, cheese, and avocado and—voila—burrito ou can eat for breakfast. And here are a few of our favorites in San Francisco.
We almost want to stop this list here, because Cafe Vinyl's Sausage Breakfast Burrito is just that good. Avocado, two eggs, cheddar cheese, roasted potato, and house-made salsa are wrapped in a flour tortilla and then grilled. The outside it crispy, the inside warm and delicious. Perfect for any nasty hangover or dearth of protein.
This gem features salty churizo, the perfect wake up call. Eggs, silky refried beans, melted jack, sliced avocado, and homemade habanero hot sauce and smokey roasted tomato salsa—super comforting, especially those who prefer things hot.
Their La Bomba breakfast burrito comes with andouille, bacon, scrambled eggs, potatoes, Monterey Jack, and pico de gallo.
This New Mexico style burrito comes to you wet—smothered in a spicy green or red chile sauce. Delicious.
Expect to be full for a day and a half after tackling this beauty.
