5 Pretty Sweet Treats for Easter (or Just Spring)

By

We're not really sure what a big bunny toting sweet treats has to do with Jesus, but we're here for it.

Whether you celebrate Easter or not, you're probably craving chocolate eggs, petite cakes, marzipan chickens, and pastel-glazed donuts. Here's where to pick up a few Instagramable goodies that look and taste like spring.

ONE65's Petite Cakes

Yep, this single-serving delight feels right for Easter, especially thanks to its bright, Episcopalian hue. The palm-sized pastry is filled with hazelnut praline, Baileys mousse and mascarpone coffee mousse, and is topped with a healthy amount of vanilla cream and a chocolate biscuit. // Order in advance to confirm availability, 415.814,8888; 165 O'Farrell Street (Union Square), one65sf.com.

Lord Stanley's Easter Eggstravaganza

You'd be hard-pressed to find an Easter ova larger than the one made by the pastry royals at Lord Stanley. Their gargantuan egg is made with 13-and-a-half pounds of milk chocolate and stands over two feet tall. It can even be filled with your own items upon request. If the $400 price tag is too rich for your blood, Lord Stanley is also offering more appropriately sized Easter baskets ($40) and a five-course meal kit for four ($325). You can order the whole offering on Tock. // Order by April 1st for pickup on April 2nd and 3rd; 2065 Polk Street (Nob Hill), lordstanleysf.com.

Miette Patisserie and Confiserie's Candies + Cookies

Already known for its hyper-adorableness, Miette should be your first stop if you're on the hunt for classic Easter sweets such as iced sugar cookies—in the shapes of rabbits, chicks, eggs, and lambs—molded candies, and Scharffen Berger bunny cakes. Their marzipan chickens make Peeps look like child's play, and the papier-mâché eggs can very well double as centerpieces. Cookie decorating classes are also on offer via Zoom. // Multiple locations in SF, Oakland, and Larkspur; miette.com

Nyamin x Breadbelly Easter Box

In time for Easter, the Outer Richmond bakery has teamed up with the chocolatiers at Nyamin to put together a festive box of goodies ($36) that delightfully resembles an egg carton. Each set features six flavored chocolate bonbons plus a few mini Breadbelly cookies; that can be specially requested. // Preorder online for pickup April 1-4; 1408 Clement St. (Outer Richmond), breadbellysf.com.
