A Sloth Festival Is Happening in SF this Summer

By

Try to contain your squeals of excitement (it's hard, we know), over the news that the Internet's favorite lazy animal is getting its own festival this summer.

According to Facebook, the 1st Annual San Francisco Sloth Festival will happen on August 27, 2016 at an unnamed location. Honestly, we aren't too surprised considering this is the same city that made goat festivals a thing.

Although, it seems that the organizers underestimated just how much folks love sloths these days.

"Due to the unprecedented interest in the 1st Annual San Francisco Sloth Festival, we have all decided unanimously that we must bring you the biggest, most outrageously slothtastic Sloth Festival the world has ever seen," it says on the event page. "We can only accomplish this by taking a cue from our dear friend the sloth, and doing it slowly: these things cannot be rushed."

The magical day will include musical acts, art exhibits, live sloth-themed art installations, and food and merchandise vendors. Will a real-life sloth make an appearance? We can only hope.
