As the city's notorious and celebrated center of vice, Tenderloin bars, restaurants, and hotels have played a starring role in the emergence of San Francisco cocktail culture. Tonight, head the TL's museum for a talk and tasting led by Shana Farrell, author of Bay Area Cocktails: A History of Culture, Community and Craft. In collaboration with the California Historical Society, the event is part of The Match Book: Tenderloin Historical Ephemera Project, a concurrent exhibition in which you can view historic local bar signs, glassware, postcards, menus, and matchbooks (of course).
