Tripty Project: Slow Fashion from Oakland to Bangladesh
Based in Oakland, the Tripty Project is a slow fashion brand that brings together traditional handicraft and hip design with an indie spirit. The project aims to combat the waste and poor worker treatment common among fast fashion brand through the use of raw, organic materials (cotton, pineapple, jute, silk); upcycling (saris are refashioned as lining for the reversable jackets); natural processes of sewing, weaving, and dyeing; and the employment of longtime artisans in Bangladesh. The result are cool bags, gorgeous garments, and hand-stitched quilts that support craft, culture, and the environment.
