Richmond's newest taproom hasn't yet gone viral, which means now is the perfect time to belly up to the bar at East Brother Beer and chat with brewmaster Peter Landman, formerly of Deschutes Brewery and Fifty-Fifty Brewing. Owners Chris Coomber and Rob Lightner are also around and eager to meet their soon-to-be regulars before they get discovered by the masses. We don't know what kind of drinks Edinburgh Castle is serving this Saturday night at the 7th Annual Bowie & Elvis Birthday Bash, and quite frankly, we don't care. We just want to celebrate the fact that these two music legends share a birthday as well as a music label. Guests can expect multiple DJs and a surprise live performance for the $5 cover charge, and prizes will be awarded for best dressed male and female. Jumpsuits and spacesuits are equally encouraged, as are blue suede shoes and red shoes that dance the blues. There will also be some drink specials during the evening, along with birthday cake. The party starts at 9pm. // 950 Geary St. (Tenderloin), thecastlesf.com
