Dine About Town, aka Restaurant Week in SF, is returning for a second round this year from June 1 - 15. While the idea of prix-fixe two- or three-course lunches and dinners from some of the city's best restos is usually something to celebrate, sadly, not all the menus are worth getting too excited over. That's why we perused all of this year's participants to bring you the crème de la crème of restaurant week menus, so you can know what's worth putting pants on and hitting the scene for.
Farmer Brown, Dinner
Southern-inspired Farmer Brown is not messing around when it comes to their three-course dinner menu. Featuring gumbo, BBQ baby back ribs, and crawfish croquettes (and those are just your appetizers) this restaurant is going big for DAT. For the entree choose between blackened prawns, fried chicken, pork chops, and jambalaya and wash it all down with strawberry pecan crumble or blue-ribbon pecan pie. See the menu here. 25 Mason Street
Marlowe, Lunch
Order the little gem salad and Marlowe burger during a normal lunch hour, and you're already looking at a meal well over $25. Marlowe's tasty DAT menu offers your choice of salad or soup paired with either the warm, open faced deviled egg sandwich, the burger, or warm rock shrimp roll for only $18. Score! See the menu here. 330 Townsend Street
Nombe, Brunch
Nombe's dinner menu has a ton of tasty, varied options, but we're here to talk about brunch, specifically the Japanese Breakfast Teishoku. Treat yourself to the grilled fish of the day, onsen tamago, pickles, salad, miso soup, nori rice, plus either a mimosa or apple pie gyoza a la mode for dessert. Or opt for the Ramenburger (you know you've been dying to try it) which comes with shichimi fries, and a bottomless mimosa. See the menu here. 2491 Mission Street
Pesce, Dinner
I applaud Pesce for the opportunity to eat steak tartare, pappardelle (duck), and braised short rib in one sitting. Not for those that are cutting back on carbs, Pesce's menu also boats bacon risotto, herb crusted tuna, and spaghetti Bolognese. See the menu here. 2223 Market Street
Pier Market Seafood, Lunch
If you're willing to battle the hordes of tourists, then it's worth it to head to Pier 39 this week for Pier Market's seafood-heavy menu. Choose between fried calamari, steamed mussels, and New England clam chowder for the first course and then linguini and clams, fish and chips, or crab cakes for the entree. And don't forget to admire the view and buy a SF-poncho while you're there. See the full menu here. Pier 39
Thirsty Bear Brewing Company, Dinner
Fairly well know for their bear-themed beers, now is your chance to try Thirsty Bear's Spanish cuisine. The first course comes with your choice of salad and a pintxo choice sampler of five assorted, chef’s choice, one-bite skewers. The entree is your choice of three different paellas: Valenciana (Saffron rice, tomato sofrito, chicken, chorizo, clams, mussels, calamari, rockfish, red peppers, and peas), Paella Verduras (Herb sofrito, snap peas, wild mushrooms, red pearl onions, pea tendrils, fava leaves, chili flake, fresh hermbs, and lemon), or the Paella of the Day. Finish the meal on a sweet note with cinnamon churros and Spanish hot chocolate. Yum! See the menu here. 661 Howard Street
