For years we've been hearing tell of chef Brandon Jew's (Bar Agricole) newest venture, a contemporary Chinese restaurant to be located, somewhat surprisingly, in Chinatown. And now, finally, the old Four Seas space on Grant Avenue will open its doors on April 8th as Mister Jiu's. Everything from the soy sauce to the chili paste is handmade with the utmost precision, so don't feel guilty if you order seconds (or thirds). // Opens April 8: 731 Grant Ave. (Chinatown), misterjius.com

It seems like poke is the latest craze to sweep the Bay Area, but we're not complaining. Poki Time, which opens this Friday, will offer customizable bowls of Hawaiian-style raw fish with rice, sauces, vegetables and other toppings. In addition to four fish options—salmon, tuna, yellowtail and albacore—choose from 13 different toppings such as Spam, edamame, crab meat, and mango. The restaurant will also serve mochi desserts and delivery is in the works! // Opens April 8: 549 Irving (Inner Sunset), facebook.com/Poki-Time

Pop-up vet Wes Rowe has been grilling some of San Francisco’s best burgers every Wednesday night for the last two years. This month, the master of Texas-style patties will finally get his own space in the Mission, right next to Mission Chinese Food. The menu will offer some of his top-hits burgers (like the stoner-inspired Hot Wes, pictured above) as well as (literal) buckets of fried chicken and tater tots. // Opens April 6: 240 Mission St. (Mission), wesburgernmore.com

Celebrity chef and California cuisine pioneer Jonathan Waxman (Chez Panisse) returned to the Bay Area last month with the opening of new restaurant + cafe Waxman's in Ghirardelli Square. The California-Italian menu features a selection of handmade pastas, grilled and wood oven roasted meats, and Waxman's signature JW roasted chicken with salsa verde, accompanied by a wine list curated by David Lynch and seasonal cocktails from Patrick Poelvoorde. // 900 N.
