Monday, August 14th: Free Eclipse Glasses @ Grand Library

Why: Staring at the eclipse without protection causes blindness—and no, that's not like what they told you in sex-ed class back home. This is for real. Practice safe solar-ing by with pair of eclipse glasses—you can snag some for free at South San Francisco's Grand Library on Monday morning. Get there early! (PS: Warby Parker is also giving away freebies.)

Tuesday, August 15th: Be a Sushi Chef @ SoMa Home

When: 7-9pm

Where: *SoMa location disclosed upon reservation completion, feastly.com

Why: Take a master class on perfecting sushi rice and maki rolls with chef Trevor Molyneux (of Akiko's and Michael Mina). In the chef's own home kitchen, you and about 14 other curious foodies will learn how to cut paper-thin slices of salmon and more. Tickets start at $65 per person (all ingredients and sake included!), at Feastly.

Wednesday, August 16th: Take the Beer Shuttle@ Anchor Brewing Company

Where: 1705 Mariposa St. (Potrero Hill), facebook.com

When: 6:30-10:30pm

Why: Gather at Anchor Brewing to meet the team over tasting of limited-release brews, and then hop on the beer shuttle for an intoxicating tour of Harmonic, Magnolia, and Triple Voodoo breweries. The event itself is free, but be sure to set aside some funds for the drinks.

Thursday, August 17th: Embrace Your Body Type @ Dogpatch Dance and Yoga

When: Noon to 1pm

Why:Slim Thick Revolutionary Yoga is a body-positive all-levels vinyasa class aimed at building strength, flexibility and, yes, self-love, taught by instructor Kafi Payne. Tickets are $15 at eventbrite.

Friday, August 18th: See Comics Judge Art @ Art Attack SF

When: 8-9:30pm

Where: 2358 Market St., suite #1 (Upper Market), artcritiquesf.com

Why: The Art Critique Comedy Show will throw hilarious critical shade at abstract works of art. Plus, free pizza and beer will take the place of wine and cheese. Arrive before 8pm to form your own opinion about the pieces on the comedic chopping block. Tickets are $10 at eventbrite.

Saturday, August 19th: Have a Pool Party @ Phoenix Hotel

When: Noon to 6pm

Why: Hit up the Wavy Baby Pop-up Bazaar and soak up the last days of summer by the Phoenix's famous pool. You'll sip cocktails as you shop art, clothing, crafts and more from vendors including Hampui Medicine Hats, SPARC, Earth Tu Face, Torso Vintages and more. Tickets are $10 eventbrite.

Sunday, August 20th: Empty the Kennels @ San Francisco SPCA
