The Junior League of San Francisco celebrates its centennial anniversary this year with their 85th Annual Fashion Show: A Fashionable Legacy. Both the luncheon and dinner shows, will be held this Friday at the Fairmont Hotel.
Each year the show features members of the JLSF, their hubbies and their children as models in the elaborate runway show. Model trainer, Charleston Pierce, is back on the scene this year, to help these charitable ladies get officially runway ready. (We're guessing the new models just happen to be catching up on America's Next Top Model, too.)
Last year, the show featured trendy designer, Trina Turk. This year, Macy's Fashion Director, Laura Schara, will pull wardrobe from Macy's to style everything from children's wear to haute swimwear. Yes, even the classy ladies of the League has been known to take it off for a good cause.
It's not all about the fashion. Proceeds from the fashion show and silent auction help fund the JLSF’s community outreach programs. Last year, the show raked in a huge half million that helped support Compass Community Services, The Homeless Prenatal Program, in addition to several other charities.
This year, the League is stepping it up with a dedicated Giant's viewing area (We're guessing it'll be the only baseball party in town with tuxes, updos and bubbly on tap. Go Giants!), and a post fashion show dance lounge in theFairmont's Terrace Room. Mark our words, this will be one lavish evening.
