Grand Fare Market Reopens in Oakland
What: After a very short life on Grand Avenue (the market closed only two short months after opening), Grand Fare Market is back with and updated concept. Changes include: there is now only one ordering and payment point; you can now order coffee and ice cream inside; more salads and prepared foods will be available; prices are lower; tables have been added inside; and there are now fire pits outside. Check it out for yourself this weekend.
When: Open daily, 10 a.m.–10 p.m.
Where: 3265 Grand Ave. (Oakland), grandfaremarket.com
What: There's nothing quite like the feeling of exploring a city at midnight. Brought to you by popular Instagram community @nowrongwaysf, this amateur art show began with Instagram submissions to the hashtag #MidnightInSF. The best photos will be featured at 111 Minna starting this weekend. Come dressed as your midnight character and ready to dance. The night will begin with a jazz quartet before the DJs hit the booth.
When: Saturday, July 30th, 9 p.m.–2 a.m.
Where: 111 Minna St. (SoMa), facebook.com/events
New Doggie Turf at Lafayette Park
What: Humans and canines can both rejoice over the news that an updated new dog park has officially opened at Lafayette Park this week. The $305,000 project provides synthetic turf for the off-leash area, allowing for increased hours of use and a more durable surface for the popular canine play area. Plus, dogs and their owners can enjoy the new ground throughout the rainy season. In addition to the synthetic turf, a new gate and metal fencing was also installed. Happy playing!
When: Open daily
Where: Lafayette Park at Gough St. & Washington St. (Pac Heights), sfrecpark.org/lafayette-park/lafayette-park-dog-play-area
Sojourner Truth, Photography, and the Fight Against Slavery

When: Runs July 27th–October 23rd, 11 a.m.–7 p.m.
Where: 2155 Center St. (Berkeley), bampfa.org/sojourner-truth-photography-and-fight-against-slavery
