A ticket to Outside Lands doesn’t merely buy you three days of entertainment from some of today’s most popular music artists. San Francisco is a food mecca, and, in proper form, this weekend-long music festival offers you bites from an array of restaurants, food trucks, and some of our city’s most popular local chefs. Year after year, favorites such as Straw, 4505 Meats, and Bacon Bacon return to quench your festival hunger. This year, Outside Lands welcomes nineteen (!) new nibbles that you shouldn’t pass up. Our favorite place for Southern comfort food and Sunday gospel brunch brings its infamous BBQ shrimp and creamy grits to the park. For a perfect pairing, enjoy your soulful cuisine with the soulful sounds of D’Angelo on Friday evening.
Feelin’ a little sluggish after that mid-morning beer? Stop for a pick-me-up from Blue Bottle. They’ll brew their single origin coffee and New Orleans iced coffee at the festival, so grab one and dance the afternoon away to Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue on Sunday.
Alicia knows her tamales, and she’s ready to share them with the masses at Outside Lands. She believes “the best tamales are stuffed with love, and the best people are stuffed with her tamales.” So go ahead, stuff yourself, sit back, and enjoy the music of LoCura on Saturday, an eclectic mix up Flamenco, Reggae, Cumbia, and Ska.

There were days when an average slice of pizza was all you could expect from a music festival. Escape from New York is changing all that, serving up piping hot slices of pesto pizza with roasted garlic and potatoes. And who knows, maybe you’ll catch some members of New York-based bands such as Yeasayer, The National, and Grizzly Bear in line behind you for a taste of home.
Freshroll Vietnamese Rolls & Bowls
This create-your-own Vietnamese roll and bowl eatery will make ever-populaar banh-mi sandwiches all weekend long. Spicy and sweet, they are perfect food to grab on the go. Nibble on your sandwich while you enjoy the spicy-sweet tunes of San Francisco's Thao & The Get Down Stay Down.
San Francisco’s first and only BBQ truck will be serving up Kansas City spareribs and smoked chicken legs, made with their onboard smoker. Enjoy your fiery feast with the smokin’ tunes of New Orlean’s band Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk on Sunday.

San Francisco’s most in-demand Jewish deli is making waves in the foodie scene, and just recently opened its second location at the Jewish Museum. They’ll serve up quintessential Jewish fare, such as their house-made pastrami sandwich and pastrami cheese fries, to hungry concert-goers.
Nopa’s sister restaurant and vibrant Mexican kitchen will make corn on the cob with queso, chili, and lime, and their “spicy awesome chips.” Grab an order of chips and listen to the spicy, awesome voice of Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs Karen O. Just don’t be disappointed if they get thrown into the crowd before they make it to your mouth.
If you get to the park early to avoid crowds and are hankering for breakfast, head over to Il Cane Rosso for griddled French toast, fried egg sandwiches, and crispy hashbrowns. Secure a spot at the stage of The Easy Leaves or The Wild Feathers for a relaxing Sunday brunch with harmonic tunes.

We're excited to announce that Hayes Valley gem, Rich Table, will class up the park this year. They're offering everyone’s favorites, sardine chips and porcini doughnuts. And believe us, the sardine chips are good. Enjoy them with any band, or in silence, or in line for a beer, just... get them.
Cheeselands
Last, but in our opinion, most importantly, Outside Lands is welcoming Cheeselands in 2013 to accompany Chocolands, Wine Lands, and Beer Lands. Are we the only ones wondering why it took so long for Cheeselands to join the ranks? It will feature a selection of local cheeses by Long Meadow Ranch and Culture Magazine’s Thalassa Skinner. Needless to say, you’ll find us here all weekend long.
