Airstream Just Debuted Its New Travel Trailer and We're Obsessed
18 October 2017
Maintaining the signature "silver bullet" aluminum body we've come to know and love, the interior is more akin to a boutique hotel than a house on wheels, with touch that the brand is calling "European." But it'll suit us Northern Californians just fine.
The travel trailer was designed in collaboration with UK-based design studio Astheimer Limited; and the added elements are luxurious to say the least. Panoramic windows allow natural light to stream onto minimalist-modern decor. There is a sofa, dining area, bedroom and two-piece bathroom and shower, replete with wraparound upholstery, rich wood paneling, and woven vinyl flooring. Recessed speakers and backlighting throughout set the mood; while a choice of walnut or elm finishes and four color palettes (blue, cream, grey, or slate) set the style.
Enter through the kitchen/dinette and you'll notice Corian countertops, an oversized stainless steel sink, and spacious storage cabinets overhead. In the bedroom, choose between a queen-size or two twin beds featuring high-end bedding. The Globetrotter can accommodate up to six people, with four slumbering in the convertible dinette. Another added prerequisite is the power awning system with Sunbrella fabrics, perfect for an outdoor meal or afternoon lounging.
Road trip anyone?
// Priced at $99,900, the Globetrotter should be available later this month at select dealers including Bay Area Airstream Adventures. More info at airstream.com/travel-trailers/globetrotter.
