Plus, NYC eyewear brand Moscots is hella stoked to have a storefront in Pacific Heights and Fillmore scores a chic, independently owned clothing store in The Finerie.

Hankering for a pair of cozy, sustainable kicks, sweats, hats, blah bah? Make a beeline for one of four Bay Area Allbirds stores and ye shall be rewarded. Now through Christmas Eve, buy one and get one 15 percent off. Yes, that applies to everything— mixing and matching products is A-OK. And, no, the sale is not available online.
We're particularly psyched about this one because the loved SF brand rarely puts stuff on sale and we can check off a chunk of our holiday list in one full swoop.

The welcome wagon returns to Fillmore (where there's been lots of retail activity of late) to usher in The Finerie. Can we just say, we're very excited to see a new non-chain women's clothing store open on Pac Heights' main drag. And, this one's a goodie. The light-filled 1,000-square-foot space is filled with stylish but approachable clothing and accessories that check off pretty much all the boxes: work-wear (remote and in-office), cocktail and after hours, weekend brunch, and bedtime.
Just a few of the not-found-everywhere brands you'll find in the well-edited shop include: Staud, Derek Lam 10 Crosby, IRO, Le Jean, Ronny Kobo, and Andine. (Plus, more swoon-worthy labels coming soon—Jonathan Simkhai, Rhode, Ba&sh, Vince, and GreyVen.)
The other thing we love? There's nary a a crop top, micro mini, or pair of low-rise jeans in sight. According to store cofounders and friends, Jen Derrick and Mayola Martinez, The Finerie's target customer is women 35-plus on the hunt for pieces that make them feel cool, confident, and sexy. Right on, ladies.
Stop by for a a Giving Sunday event on November 20th when five percent of all sales will be donated to SF CASA, which provides support and protects abused and neglected children in foster care.

Former Manhattanites will likely recognize the name. After all, Moscot's has been a New York institution for more than 100 years. Now, the fifth-generation brand's iconic eyewear is taking up a 725-square-foot brick-and-mortar (avec eye exams) on Fillmore Street.
Along with its entire assortment of signature glasses including sunnies, the biz is celebrating the move to the city with a limited-edition Golden Gate Fade in the new Smendrik frame. Not to mention, every purchase comes with a chamois depicting the store by local artist Nathaniel Bice. (We're obsessed with his tiny paintings.)
"We’re excited to connect with our West Coast fans. We hope this new location will continue the legacy of the beloved neighborhood optical shop, while capturing the nostalgic feeling of having stepped into our Great Grandma Sylvia Moscot’s living room," kvells Dr. Harvey Moscot, the brand's fourth generation CEO.
No doubt, Hyman Moscot—the man who started it all by selling ready-made spectacles from a pushcart after arriving at Ellis Island from Eastern Europe in 1899—would hardly believe his eyes.
