With Halloween just around the corner, it's time to gear up for the equally spooky Día de los Muertos. In honor of the globally celebrated Mexican holiday, SOMArts Cultural Center is hosting their 13th annual Day of the Dead exhibition starting next Saturday.

In observance of the customary traditions of the holiday, "Calling on the Spirits to Face the Future: Día de los Muertos 2012" will showcase classic altars and other multidimensional art installations from more than 80 Bay Area artists. Additionally, the exhibit will be dedicated to the late artist Daniel del Solar and the recently passed John Buchanan, former Director of the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco. With special events and live musical performances planned throughout the program, don't miss the chance to celebrate the beauty of life and honor the spirits of the dead.
