Arts and Tech Initiative The Creators Projects Takes Over Fort Mason with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs
09 March 2012
Calling all creative types: make your way to Fort Mason next weekend for a two-day extravaganza of art, music, design, film, and more. A partnership between VICE and Intel, The Creators Project has been attracting the art- and tech-savvy set all over the world—Beijing, Sao Paulo, Paris, Seoul, New York—and next weekend marks the first-ever San Francisco event. Now in its third year, it's about time the festival touched down in the country's most burgeoning epicenter of technology.
The schmooze fest—which is meant to foster the work of emerging artists pushing boundaries of expression primarily through technology—offers workshops, panel discussions, and film screenings but also includes performances by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy, Shabazz Palaces, Zola Jesus, The Antlers and more. It's convention meets concert for the brightest minds in the bay.
Don't miss installations like United Visual Artists + ScannersOrigin, the 40x40-foot audiovisual cubic sculpture on display at Coachella last year and Chris Milk's interactive installation called Our Three Stages of Flight. It's free and open to the public, but you must RSVP here to get in.
Sat. 3/17 – Sun. 3/18; Fort Mason Center, Marina Blvd. and Buchanan St., thecreatorsproject.com
