Who would say no to looking good for a good cause? Certainly not the good people at Loomstate and Barneys New York, because they're giving you the opportunity to do your part by dressing well.
The "Loomstate Endangered Program" aims to create awareness and education around all endangered species and habitats by taking an innovative approach toward solutions. Animal prints are hot on the runway, but Loomstate's use of the patterns isn't just chic; it's a wake-up call. Each item will be dedicated to a specific animal's marking, habitat and related threats, and buyers will have the opportunity to learn more about the animals, courtesy of a "call to action" label sewn into each garment.
The "Endangered" program is aligned with Loomstate's seasonal design calendar, Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter, as a capsule collection complimenting the main line. The program distribution will begin exclusively at Barneys New York and Loomstate.org website.
The animals at the center of the Endangered program are all found in the United States, and though not all are on the endangered list, many are on "high alert." The Bald Eagle, Grey Wolf, Barn Owl, Jaguar, Mission Blue Butterfly, Sand Hill Crane and Cougar are all featured in the collection, which includes four fashion t-shirts and 1 dress for women, and two v-neck t-shirts for men.
And the best part? Loomstate and Barneys New York will donate 1% of the proceeds from the "Endangered" program to Defenders of Wildlife, one of the country's leaders in science-based, results-oriented wildlife conservation. So head over to Barneys and do your part (as if you needed an excuse).
