For many people, this time of year is for spending time with family, opening presents, and eating more sugar cookies then your stomach can hold. However, for others, it's a time to escape the hustle and bustle of the holidays to take a vacation. For those looking for the best of both worlds, we've put together this round-up of area hotels that are mixing the holidays with vacation.
1. North Block Hotel, Yountville. Situated in Napa, the North Block Hotel's location within minutes of well-known wineries and the famous French Laundry makes it hard to want to do anything but eat and drink all day. This cozy boutique hotel has gotten a little cozier this winter with their Holiday Escape & Renewal package. Nightly rates start at $415 and include a spa treatment, lobby warm bar with treats that include cookies and cider (spiked or non-alcoholic), and holiday inspired turn-down service.
2. Four Seasons Hotel, San Francisco. If you want the comforts of home and the shopping of San Francisco then this might be the holiday package for you. The Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco is running a special event through January 31 called the Saks Fifth Avenue Holiday Shopping Package. The package begins at $445 and includes accommodations, $100 Saks Fifth Avenue gift card, hotel delivery service for purchases and gifts, makeup consultation, appointment with a personal shopper, and two cocktails and an appetizer at Seasons Bar and Lounge.
3. Silverado Resort and Spa, Napa. Napa's Silverado Resort and Spa accommodates those who want to get away for Christmas Day, but who still want some of the holiday comforts of home. Silverado's Christmas Package runs from December 22 through December 28 and features a three-night stay in a two-bedroom fireplace suite and Christmas Day buffet, all for $279 per night. The buffet is hosted in the Grand Ballroom and features an array of dishes from Executive Chef Jeffrey Jake.
