Many of music's brightest minds met in art school, from members of the Talking Heads to the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. So putting on an group art show, like Sound and Vision at the Fivepoints Arthouse, makes perfect sense. Sound and Vision is a gathering of Bay Area musicians who also dip their talents into visual art. It opens tomorrow night at 7 pm.
Local luminaries like Tim Cohen of the Fresh n Onlys (whose notebook doodlings graced the cover of his latest solo album, Laugh Tracks), Heidi Alexander and Grace Cooper of the Sandwitches, former Flamin' Groovies member Cyril Jordan and others will hang their pieces on the walls of this SoMA warehouse space and groove to local bands like the zany stylings of Portland's Blood Beach and Clouds. If any of these folks' art is as sweet as their music, this will be one hell of a show.
