If you were there, you know the crowd was fashion-forward and fun-loving, the music was a total vibe, and the food—curated by SF restaurant whiz Anna Weinberg —was out of this world. On this harder-to-face-than-usual Monday morning, let us take a moment to remember some of the best eats of Outside Lands 2017—not that our bellies have let us forget it yet.
Fan favorite Señor Sisig was there slinging the best Mexican-Filipino fusion eats. Chunks of tender pork, adobo garlic rice, pinto beans, lettuce, pico de gallo and cilantro cream sauce all came together for one glorious burrito.
▲ Wise Sons ' pastrami reuben delivered in so many ways: meats, sauce, slaw, carbs—the perfect festival fuel to keep us going throughout the weekend.
▲ More doughnuts please! The savory morsels from Rich Table were, as always, next level, thanks to a dusting of porcini powder and a side of rich raclette cheese sauce for dipping.
▲ We love us some fries. But Koja Kitchen 's criss-cut kamikaze fries—loaded with minced Korean barbecue beef, kimchi, Japanese mayo, red sauce, and green onions—have ruined us for life.
▲ If you were eating at Outside Lands, you know fried chicken sandwiches were everywhere. Proposition Chicken served up a beaut: Their juicy Mary's free-range chicken breast was fried in a rosemary-lemon brine to give it the perfect herb crust, and then topped with mayo and spicy slaw before being sandwiched in a hearth-baked roll.
▲ Looking for a little seafood? Hopefully you caught the bites at Fine & Rare , where they whipped up a delectable crab roll and savory cioppino to warm up festivalgoers.
▲ Ramen and Outside Lands? It doesn't it get any better? Itani Ramen kept us happy with oodles of noodles in their savory ramen soup.
▲ Everything you could want in a festival food and more -- Straw threw down with the perfect mash-up of savory and sweet with their bacon cheeseburger placed between two pillowy glazed donuts.
▲ Hendrick's Gin wowed us with their cocktails and their giant contraption, "The Garnisher," a theatrical cucumber chopping machine powered by two cyclists. Results: this Flora Dora cocktail with gin, Aperol, fresh-pressed raspberries, lime, ginger beer and sliced cucumbers.
