Although tourism slows this time of year in Napa, the mustard is blooming and you’ll find great deals, winemakers in tasting rooms, and more easily-made reservations all over the valley. So use the upcoming long weekend to freely revisit your favorite spots and try some new ones. Here's a list of our recommendations for fully enjoying Presidents' Day weekend in the valley.
1. Movable Feast Yountville
The 2nd Annual Yountville Movable Feast began January 1st and ends February 28. President’s Day weekend is a great time to take advantage of the value-season options and hotel dining packages all over town. Yountville is said to have “more Michelin stars per capita than anywhere on the planet,” so take advantage of the great discounts and all that Yountville has to offer and then explore the rest of the valley. 2. Hill Family Estate
While you’re in Yountville, stop by the Hill Family tasting room and enjoy complimentary proscuitto, buratta cheese and Bouchon baguettes to pair with all their new wine releases, all weekend long. Check out the wine-stained guitars, surfboards and baseball bats, which line the walls of the tasting room.
Call in advance for the complimentary pairing. (10% off all purchases if you mention 7x7).
3. Vineyard 29
Vineyard 29's celebrated wines are pretty pricey and sell out fast. With Cru, they're making things a bit more accessible. Just in time for Presidents Day and to celebrate the first release of Cru Sauvignon Blanc, the vineyard will be offering a new Cru food and wine pairing prepared by Executive Chef Austin Gallion.
Sample 3 wines (or more if you want to move beyond Cru) on a veranda overlooking the valley and enjoy pairings that will likely include crab salad, duck confit and New York steak.
Appointments only
$29 per couple and includes a food and wine pairing
