After a surprisingly outsize showing for their Nic Cage art show in April (an estimated 1,600 people lined up outside the Mission’s Balançoire for the chance to mingle, peruse, and buy works of art by fans of the actor), San Francisco–based husband-and-wife team Ezra and Julia Croft have set their sights on celebrating Wes Anderson muse Bill Murrayfor their next event.
The curated show at Public Works opens on August 8, and will feature more than 100 pieces paying homage to the actor by painters, graphic designers, videographers, and DJs from around the world.
“Gallery shows can be intimidating to some people,” says Ezra. “We want to have fun with this and create an event that’s accessible to everyone.”
Keep your eyes peeled for an interactive putt-putt hole, complete with animatronic gopher. Explosions are implied but not guaranteed.
