Deals abound in San Francisco on Black Friday, the biggest shopping day of the year. Where will you be? We've got a few suggestions....
Covet: A “secret” sale is on Friday at this Inner Richmond shop. The first 50 to show up will receive candy bags with discount coupons of varying amounts. If you’re lucky, you could score a coupon offering up to 60 percent off your purchase for the day.
Shop SF: Residents of the Bay Area’s nine counties can flash their local zip codes to save at San Francisco retail destinations, as well as attractions from museums and tours to restaurants. Shopping deals include 15 percent off at Ambiance locations, Joe’s Jeans, Candystore Collective and RAG Co-op and 20 percent off at stores such as Saks Fifth Avenue, Sisley, Glory Chen and Lombardi Sports.
Lower Haters: A progressive sale starts at 10 a.m. at this Lower Haight shop stocked with indie t-shirts, jewelry, hoodies and art. Save 40 percent off before 11 a.m., 30 percent when you shop between 11 a.m. and noon and 20 percent off from noon to 8 p.m.
Zara: Starting at 7 a.m., take up to 50 percent off stylish coats, knits, boots, dresses and tops at both SF locations.
Brooklyn Circus: Stop by the shop between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. for BKC's biggest sale of the year. Get up to 50 percent off merchandise, including pieces from the archives, one-of-a-kinds, samples and more. If you don't make it out on Friday, you can still get 40 percent off Saturday and 30 percent off Sunday.
Tedda Hughes: Happy hour starts at noon at this Russian Hill boutique specializing in independent designers. Stop by for 20 percent off merchandise and some holiday debauchery.
Accessories in Action: Nothing is more than $100 during this Friday shopping event and benefit for Soles4Souls. Stop by 111 Minna from 12 to 6 p.m. to shop from local accessories designers offering gifts for men, women, children and pets. Azalea Black Friday Bazaar: If you’re still going strong by nightfall (or only just getting started), venture to this Hayes Valley shop for a stylish evening of shopping, bevvies and tunes by DJ Irene Hernandez-Feiks of Chillin’ Productions. RSVP recommended.

If you want to start shopping really early on Black Friday, head to one of the Northern California Premium Outlets outposts, as doors open at the stroke of midnight on Thanksgiving (and select stores even earlier at 10 p.m.). Stocked with major brand name stores, outlets located in Folsom, Vacaville, Napa, Petaluma and Gilroy will be further discounting merchandise that’s already up to 65 percent off retail. Head to the sale armed with additional coupons and vouchers when you sign up for the VIP Shopper Club in advance.
