Bay to Breakers means a lot of things, but mostly it means drinking. In the morning.
And for those of us without the stomach for beer pre-10 am, here are a few Bloody Mary recipes to start your day off right (courtesy of our friends over at Liquor.com).
1. Charlie Palmer's Bloody Mary
INGREDIENTS:
2 oz Vodka
.25 teaspoon Dijon mustard
2 Dashes Worcestershire Sauce
Dollop horseradish (canned)
Eighth of a teaspoon Sriracha
.25 oz Cocktail onion brine
2.5 oz Tomato juice
Salt and ground pepper to taste
Splash lemon juice
Splash lime juice
Garnish: Celery stalk or two cocktail onions
Glass: Pint
PREPARTION:
Add all the ingredients to a shaker and fill with ice. Shake vigorously and pour unstrained into a pint glass. Garnish the drink with a celery stalk or two cocktail onions.
2. The Bloody Kirby

INGREDIENTS:
1.5 oz Grey Goose Le Citron Flavored Vodka
Half-inch slice of a peeled kirby cucumber
Dash Tabasco Hot Sauce
.25 oz Dry vermouth
1.5 oz Tomato juice
Garnish: Kirby cucumber spear
Glass: Rocks
PREPARATION:
In a cocktail shaker combine the cucumber, Tabasco, vodka and dry vermouth. Muddle well. Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice. Top with tomato juice and garnish with a spear of cucumber.
3. Grey Goose Le Citron Asian Mary

INGREDIENTS:
1.5 oz Grey Goose Le Citron Flavored Vodka
1 oz Sake
3 oz Asian Mary Mix*
Garnish: Shiso leaves or cilantro leaves and slice of lemon
Glass: Tall tumbler
PREPARATION:
Add all the ingredients to a cocktail shaker and fill with ice. Shake vigorously and strain
into a large tumbler filled with ice. Garnish with shiso leaves or cilantro leaves and a slice of lemon.
*Asian Mary Mix:
INGREDIENTS:
32 oz Tomato juice
3 tsp Wasabi powder
3 tsp Dried ginger powder
3 tsp Soy sauce
3 oz Lime juice
PREPARATION:
Add all the ingredients to a pitcher with a tight-fitting lid. Close the pitcher and shake vigorously. You can prepare the mix up to four days in advance.
