Come Celebrate Local Businesses, Pet Adoptions & a Pet Talent Show at DOGMA in Hayes Valley!
19 September 2011
Yeah, it's only Monday, but we're already thinking about the weekend. Why? Because thanks to the SF SPCA's bustling DOGMA street fair and pet talent show coming up on September 24 in Hayes Valley, it's going to be a heck of a good one. It's the perfect way to get outside and support local businesses and pet adoptions. So come on down and bring your dog, cat, lizard, rat, bird or guinea pig (any beloved critter in your life!) along to enjoy the day.
Whether you stop by before or after your delicious brunch at one of the 'hood's eateries, there will be tons of fun and info to be had for you, your pets and your friends. Get advice on pet issues from the SF SPCA's Dr. Christine La Cerda and tune up with some acupuncture (for you and your pet) with the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
And what better way to strut your stuff than at the pet talent show? If your pet can walk on its hind legs, sing songs, even rock a killer costume, we want to see it! Bring it on and you'll walk away with awesome prizes.
In the market to adopt a new animal friend? We'll have adoptable animals from the SF SPCA, Family Dog Rescue, MILO Foundation, Save a Bunny and more. Make sure your furry friends are perfectly coiffed and groomed at the Wag Hotel booth, offering complimentary nail trims and ear cleaning. And of course, there will be a Doggie Kissing Booth! Donate $1 for each kiss–the money goes to help the SF SPCA.
And be sure to check out local pet-inspired businesses including Novodeco Jewelry, Gwen Gear, Mijo & Bambi and Minimal. That's just the tip of the iceberg of all the happenings at this weekend's fair. Click here for entire 411.
We can't wait to meet the loves of your lives. See you there! And don't forget to cast your vote for what pet you think reps their hood the best in our DOGMA pet poll here!
DOGMA, Saturday, September 24 from 11 am to 3 pm. Octavia Street between Hayes and Fell in Hayes Valley.
