Lots of happening stuff going on at the Compound Gallery over in Oakland this month! One half of the ambitious couple (the first of our Power Couples profiles) who owns the art space, Lena Reynoso, tells us of the Fifth Annual HOLIDAYLAND gift sale put on by Professor Squirrel, which is going on in tandem with their It's Better Than a Lump of Coal art sale, both featuring hundreds of handmade, one-of-a-kind pieces of fine art, jewelry, household objects, clothes and paper goods.
Separated into two rooms but all under one roof, the two events will be a gathering of Bay Area artists and crafty folks with their talent on display and for sale. It's perfect if you're trying to steer away from boring, generic holiday gifts. Professor Squirrel is also providing photobooths, games of Toss O' Squirrel for prizes, music and tamales to make it a party.
It won't let up until December 19th, and you can visit Thursdays through Sundays from 12-7 pm. There will be a fun opening reception taking place this Friday, December 10th!
