Named "Best Film Festival" by USA Today readers, Cinequest Film and VR Festival is taking place February 28 to March 12 in Redwood City and San Jose.

Attendees can expect appearances by Maverick Spirit winners Jane Lynch (Glee) and Jason Reitman (Juno); 129 world and U.S. premiere films (featuring stars such as Amanda Seyfried, Sir Ben Kingsley, Michelle Rodriguez, Sigourney Weaver, Rooney Mara, and Christian Bale); more than 700 presenting artists and innovators; spectacular virtual-reality experiences; and fabulous celebrations.

When the curtain rises at the palatial California Theatre in San Jose, opening night begins with an amazing comedy show, The Last Word, starring Shirley MacLaine (Terms of Endearment, Mrs. Winterbourne) and Amanda Seyfried (Les Misérables, Mamma Mia!). Closing night features a beautifully crafted film, The Zookeeper's Wife, starring two-time Academy Award-nominated Jessica Chastain (Miss Sloane, Zero Dark Thirty), Daniel Brühl (Captain America: Civil War), and Johan Heldenbergh (The Broken Circle Breakdown).
