If there is one thing that we appreciate here at 7x7, it's cookies. So when we found out that Dough & Co (previously featured on our list of San Francisco's Yummiest Cookies) founder Omar Mamoon had created four new recipes, we knew we had to try them ASAP.
Dough & Co's flagship chocolate chunk recipe is gourmet-done-easy with Madagascar vanilla, two kinds of chocolate, and a sprinkle of Maldon sea salt flakes. And while we're usually not fans of subbing out key cookie ingredients (why mess with a good thing?), Dough & Co has managed to create egg-free cookie dough that's just as flavorful, and decadent, as any out there (he subs ground white chia seeds for the egg). We also appreciate that the dough is safe to eat.
So what's new in the kitchen? The four new flavors include brownie (made with dark chocolate and topped with sea salt), peanut butter (with whole peanuts mixed in and sprinkled with smoked sea salt), white chocolate macadamia nut (inspired by Mamoon's childhood love for Subway), and the Holy Grail of all cookies—horchata (it takes like Christmas morning).
Dough & Co operates out of rented space at La Cocina, so your best bet for trying one of the new flavors is to follow the cookie company on Instagram to see what local menu they'll pop up at next. Or you can always just buy the dough and make them yourself. Cookie party!
// The horchata cookie will be available for one-day only at La Taqueria (2889 Mission St). Head there any time on Friday, February 12 for a taste of the goodness. All proceeds go towards La Cocina. Details here.
