It's only Wednesday and you're way behind on your drinking schedule for the week. From IPA galore at an video game bar to a new happy hour at a modern beer garden, we're here to help.
Stone Brewing Brings IPA Madness to Brewcade
If you like your beers bitter, pop into Brewcade tonight for Stone Brewing Company's IPA Madness. From 6 to 10 pm, you'll find five seriously hoppy brews on tap from the makers of Arrogant Bastard Ale. In addition to the flagship Stone IPA (65 IBUs), which packs a 6.9% ABV punch, there are three more high-octane IPAs to choose from, plus one session brew, affectionately dubbed "Go To IPA" (4.5% ABV, 65 IBUs). The Cali-Belgique (6.9% ABV, 77 IBUs) is Stone IPA fermented with Belgian yeast. Delicious IPA combines lemon drop and El Dorado hops in a 7.7% brew (80 IBUs), and Enjoy By 4.20.15 IPA is an Imperial IPA weighing in at 9.4% ABV and 88 IBUs. Get a 10-ounce pour of all five for $20, along with a special branded pint glass that's yours to keep. Or commit to a 16-ounce pour of your favorite IPA for $7 with the branded glass, or $5 without. 2200 Market Street, #102
Raven Releases Six New Cocktails
A half-dozen new cocktails just made their debut at Raven, and we can't decide which one to try first. Should we start with the Red Raven, made with St. George Terroir raspberry-pomegranate tea infused gin, or perhaps the Smoking Rose, featuring tequila, Pamplemousse and mezcal? The Sailor's Sour could stave off scurvy, featuring coconut-chai green tea infused rum with lemon, orgeat, strawberry, egg white and bitters. The Big Easy might be an easy choice, combining Rittenhouse Rye and St. George NOLA Coffee. Or maybe we should fire up with a Firebird, made with tequila, vanilla infused agave and chipotle tincture. No matter where we start, we will eventually succumb to Passion and Desire, Raven's newest take on the Negroni, with gin, passion fruit, bell pepper, agave and Campari. Not that we'd recommend it, but Monday's all night Happy Hour stretches from 5 pm to midnight, giving you plenty of time to try all six cocktails for $3 off the regular price of $12. 1151 Folsom
TAP(415) Debuts Daily Happy Hour
Tap into a brand new daily happy hour from 3 to 6 pm at TAP(415), the modern beer garden tucked away on the fourth floor of the Westfield Mall. Besides $5 beers by the pint and $6 wines by the glass, you'll find a daily special cocktail for $7, as well as a bevy of bar bites for $4.15. We love the bacon-wrapped little dogs with beer mustard almost as much as the braised beef slider with truffle aioli. There's also a sweet shrimp taco with pickled jalapeno and avocado salsa verde, as well as cornmeal-battered onion rings with blue cheese sauce. And while you won't find them on the happy hour menu, the adult milkshakes are worth the $12 price tag. Our favorite is the 415 Slide, featuring Bailey's, espresso liqueur, malt powder, stout, vanilla ice cream, and cookie crumble. 845 Market Street
