Less thinking. More drinking.
CLIFT Launches Centennial Cocktail List
CLIFT Hotel just turned 100, and the city's best bartenders are paying their respects by creating cocktails exclusively for Redwood Room, the luxury hotel's swanky bar. Starting Thursday, the Redwood Room's regular drink menu will include new guest cocktails, including Grape Drink (grapes, agave syrup, peach bitters, tequila) from Shawn Vergara of Blackbird, the Bentley Old Fashioned (bourbon, chocolate bitters, orgeat, dark chocolate) from H. Joseph Ehrmann of Elixir, and Nola Darling (mezcal, yellow chartreuse, bitters, orange peel, Luxardo cherry) from Nora Furst of Lolinda. // 495 Geary

Celebrate Negroni Week
The list of local bars participating in Negroni Week, June 1-7, is far too long to include here, so we'll just point out two. In case you didn't know, bartender Tony Diiorio of Poggio Trattoria (777 Bridgeway, Sausalito), is affectionately known as Tony Negroni. He'll be serving his signature concoction—made with Bombay Sapphire gin, Campari, and Vya red vermouth—all week long, setting aside $1 from every Negroni sale for Willow Creek Academy. Elixir (3200 16th Street) is the place to close out Negroni Week on June 7, where owner H. Joseph Ehrmann will be hosting a Charity Guest Bartending evening, featuring $6 Negronis made by bartenders from The Last Word in Livermore. Proceeds benefit SocialPlanet, supporting charity projects related to the Nepalese earthquake.
Serious Scotch Drinkers Only
If you're among the handful of hardcore fans of the Scottish film The Angels' Share, you won't want to miss The Barrel Room SF's Scotch Seminar and Tasting with Mahesh Patel this Friday, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. With attendance capped at 20, this intimate event will allow guests to learn about the subtleties and nuances of Scotch directly from Patel, a connoisseur and collector of fine and rare whiskies for more than 20 years. Tickets ($50) include tastings and food pairings. Email info@barrelroomsf.com to reserve your seat. // 415 Sansome Street
Cheer on the Warriors at Locanda
Want to watch the Warriors whip the Cavaliers somewhere other than a sports bar? Catch the action at Locanda, which will be screening Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday at 6 p.m. While you're there, try the themed cocktail of the evening, The Golden State ($10 during the game), which is a winning combination of tequila, mezcal, and amaro.
