The joys of a spirited brunch come in four shapes and glasses.
Nopa's Ramos Gin Fizz Serves 1 Ingredients:
Juice of half a lemon Juice of half a lime 1 ounce simple syrup 1 ounce half-and-half ¾ ounce egg white Club soda Orange flower water Add the first six ingredients to a shaker. Shake well. Add ice. Shake again. Strain into a chilled collins glass. Top with a splash of soda and orange flower water. | |
Chez Spencer's Pamplemousse 68 Serves 1 Ingredients:
Fresh grapefruit juice Champagne Grapefruit slice Maraschino cherry Fill a collins glass with ice. Add vodka and a generous splash of grapefruit juice. Fill to the top with Champagne. Garnish with a slice of grapefruit and a maraschino cherry. | |
Prospect's Bloody Mary Serves 2 Ingredients:
½ teaspoon sea salt 1 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper 36 ounces tomato juice 3 ½ ounces Worcestershire 2 ounces horseradish 2 ounces fresh lemon juice 2 ounces fresh lime juice Tabasco 4 ounces gin, tequila, or vodka Olives and lime for garnish In a small pitcher, combine the first eight ingredients plus a few shakes of Tabasco. Fill two 10-ounce glasses with ice. Add half of the chosen spirit to each. Pour in enough Bloody Mary mix to fill. Stir and garnish with two olives and a lime wedge. | |
25 Lusk's Jean-Michel-Ada Serves 1 Ingredients:
½ ounce Pueblo Viejo tequila 1 ounce lime juice ½ ounce agave syrup Dash of Tobasco Lager such as Stella Artois Rim a chilled pilsner glass with salt and fill with ice. Add all of the tequila, agave and Tabasco and stir well. Top with lager. |
