Grab Street Food at Fort Mason
On Friday, June 25, head to Fort Mason Center for an evening of street food and live music. The event, called “Off the Grid,” is the first in a recurring series to be held each Friday from 5-8 p.m. featuring food from Latin and Asian vendors, along with live music and beer and wine. This week’s participating vendors include Peko-Peko catering, El Huarache Loco, Hapa Ramen, Chaac Mool and many others.
A Special Brunch at Foreign Cinema with Niloufer Ichaporia King
This Saturday and Sunday, June 26 and 27, cookbook author Niloufer Ichaporia King, author of My Bombay Kitchen, will be preparing a special brunch at Foreign Cinema featuring recipes from her forthcoming second cookbook. Diners can look forward to kheema turnovers, date “pop tarts,” and prawns and yogurt rice, all served a la carte alongside Foreign Cinema brunch signatures like brown sugar bacon and, of course, Bloody Marys. A Strawberry Field Trip with Slow Food
This Saturday, June 26, Slow Food Berkeley has organized a field trip to Swanton Berry Farm. The trip will include a farm tour, a picnic lunch and the opportunity to pick delicious berries for jam, shortcakes and the like. The $14 fee includes the tour, lunch and 1 basket of strawberries (or a half-basket of olallieberries). Additional berries can be picked and purchased for $2.50 (strawberries) or $4 (olallieberries) per pound. To book your space, click here.
Pickled, a pop-up bar at Absinthe
Absinthe’s Carlos Yturria is the bartender behind “Pickled” a once-monthly pop-up bar in the Absinthe private dining room. On the last Monday of each month (beginning June 28), Yturria will be serving a special selection of 7-8 cocktails, with scrumptious bar snacks available for purchase. Pickled will be open from 5:30-10 p.m., and no reservations are required.
