Pre-Thanksgiving Pop-Up Underground Market
Get your "take-homeables" at this petite underground market on November 24, scheduled from 2-8 p.m. at 259 Mission Street (@ Cesar Chavez). The dozen vendors will have jams, chocolates, cookies and more, perfect as T-Day Thanksgiving hostess gifts, or for the feast you're preparing. Admission is $5.
Peko Peko at Bar Tartine
The brilliant East Bay-based Japanese catering outfit, Peko Peko, will be cooking up a feast at host kitchen Bar Tartine on November 29. Detox from your weekend of turkey with bowls of hand-rolled udon, fried pork and other delights, plus beer and sake. The five-course menu is $60 (cash or check only) and you can reserve at Open Table.
Learn About Armagnac at Bourbon and Branch
Just in time for the cold weather, Bourbon and Branch will be hosting an Armagnac class at the bar onĀ November 30. Fans of the fiery French brandy (called Cognac's "wild and rustic cousin") will delight in the hands-on celebration of this serious spirit. Meatpaper Raises the Roof
In celebration of their latest issue, the Meatpaper crew is throwing another party at Blue Bottle's rooftop cafe at the SFMOMA, the third (and final) of their fall series. Stop by on December 2 for mingling, snacks and coffee from friends and fans of the meaty journal. The event begins at 6 pm and is free and open to the public.
Crab Feed in the Mission
On December 4, the fourth annual Slow Crab Festival will take place at the Women's Building in the Mission. Prepare for lots of freshly caught crab plus all the fixin's, as well as local beer and a special guest appearance from Paul Johnson on Monterey Fish.
