Editors' Picks: Janis Joplin Stamp, Bubbly Hair, A Shocking 'God' Shirt, & More
08 August 2014
Here's what the 7x7 editors were thinking about this week when they should have been at work.
The bubble ponytail made an appearance on the fall 2014 Valentino runway. Not only is this a good look to pull off after hitting the beach or spending the day in the park, it's also a futuristic evening look. According to Style Arabia, here's how it's done: 1) Apply a smoothening balm to your tresses and gather your hair in a high ponytail. 2) Tease the ponytail to get a nice amount of volume with the help of a spritz of texturizing spray. 3) Take clear elastic bands and place them along the ponytail in equidistant intervals as you move down towards the tip of the hair. 4) Finish with a light-hold hair spray to keep it in place.

Two words: summer essential. My adorably nautical pair has accompanied me to Cuba, Nicaragua, Argentina, and traipsing around Europe, not to mention the beach. Best of all? You can pop them in a cold wash, and they’re practically good as new.

Janis Joplin stamp
I may or may not have been Janis Joplin in my last life. She inspired my high school hippie look, as well as my early love of SF. And, to this day, I can't take a road trip without belting out "Bobby Magee." Janis, forever.

I Met God, She's Black - Shirt
It's my entire life philosophy summed up in one super soft T from Rooftops NYC. Now if only I could convince director Ridley Scott, whose upcoming Bible-inspired epic Exodus: Gods and Kingshas an entirely minority-free cast playing Egyptian royalty, of the same thing.
