7x7 editors reveal what they're salivating over this week.
Once upon a time, I was anti-Ugg boots. How delusional I was: I couldn’t stand their bulk, hated seeing them worn with mini skirts and denim cut offs, and couldn’t understand why, in a mild climate such as ours, so much shearling was required. But then, just for kicks, I slipped into my first pair at Sports Basement four years ago. I haven’t stopped wearing Uggs since. Now I have seven pairs, and not all of them are mukluks. My recent buy, a Chelsea boot called Jo, comes from the brand's Fall 2014 collection. As you can see, there’s not a fiber of shearling in plain view—but since it wouldn’t be an Ugg without the furry stuff, it’s been included in the footbed for maximum comfort and joy. — Leilani Marie Labong (@llcoolbabe)
Hello! Lucky + Urban Dictionary Letterpress Line
Give me sass over sap any day. These new letterpress cards—a collaboration between local papery designer Hello! Lucky and Urban Dictionary—are sweet with just enough cheek. — Schuyler Bailey (@SchuylerBailey)
The finally arrived! This pair of MadBum underwear has been on my mind all week. After helping the Giants win their third World Series in five years, Madison Bumgarner allowed his moniker to be emblazoned across a limited edition of Jockey briefs. To see what they look like on, check out Jimmy Fallon who sported a pair on his badonk during The Tonight Show. — Brock Keeling (@BrockKeeling)
In the best collaboration since Missoni and Target, makeup giant M∙A∙C is partnering with IT girl retail darling Nasty Gal in a high-intensity collection of lipstick shades as daring and dramatic as the #GIRLBOSSherself, Sophia Amoruso (also featured in 7x7's 2014 Hot 20 issue). I’m particularly digging the deep purple hue called “Gunner,” and now just need an equally daring outfit to wear to this year’s holiday parties. Look for it in stores this December. — Sarah Medina (@funkycolsmedina)
